2010 Spring Fashion Trends are all about fun, exotic, romantic, and tailored pieces. You probably have a lot of these items hiding in your closet, you just aren’t sure how to mix and match them together. One of the most contradictory trends this spring is mix and matching prints. Polka dots are making a big come back and look especially great when paired with a floral skirt. When mixing patterns, be sure to stick to just two different types and keep them at different scales. For example, a black and white polka dot top should be a smaller print than the colorful floral patterned skirt.

Another great fashion tip and is always on trend is a belt. A great accessory that can accentuate and flatter your waistline! Wider belts look very chic over a sheath or fuller dress, and it is a great way to update a LBD worn to the office. When venturing into the slightly warmer spring weather, it can still be a little chilly outside. Wear a tailored blazer in white, black, or choose one of the more “safari khaki” colors that are on trend for spring, and belt it to give your blazer a more put together look.

Bright exotic animal prints on strappy sandals, purses, and belts are a fun addition to add a little pizzazz to your monochromatic look. Wear a tailored all white suit (fitted blazer and the new skinny suit pants) and add a pair of yellow lizard skin wedges. Be sure to wear only one animal print at a time. If you are wearing lizard skin shoes, then choose a different texture for your purse and belt. Think minimalistic. Just a pop of color and wow will make your suit dazzle!

You will look oh-so-pretty in a one-shoulder pink chiffon dress this spring! Choose a jewel toned pink or a barely pink chiffon dress. Don’t feel like splurging on a new dress? Check your closet for a bright or light colored chiffon skirt or dress. Pair your ensemble with a pretty angora cardigan (think white or baby pink) and skinny leather belt, and voila your light and airy look will have you looking heavenly in the sunlight!

Feeling even more girly? Then go for the gusto and adorn your bod in ruffles, or layers of lace, or any other girlish garnishes you can find! Just keep your look monochromatic, don’t go overboard and mix red ruffles with blue lace. Think nude, beige, or white to keep it simple and flirtatious.

Go bright with pops of color! Pair a cobalt blue scarf with your white tee and jeans, and be extra bold and carry a fire engine red purse. Adding bold accessories can instantly update your look. It is okay to mix colors too. Just try and keep it to a limit of two colors, and think kelly green and jewel tones. Colorful coats are a fabulous addition to any white or black fitted dress! No, not the Technicolor Dreamcoat, but a knee length coat with intricate embroidered embellishments. Dare to be different, and you will be surprised how a punch of color will enhance your mood!

Before you hit the mall, check your closet and update your wardrobe by mix and matching your tops and bottoms. Layer your items and maybe pick up a new belt or new shoes to give your outfit that fresh spring look!
