When: Friday, December 3, 2010: 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Where: Heritage Middle School Cafe and Gym, Thompson's Station, TN (Just south of Franklin, TN)

Each Vendor is responsible for the decor of their table. Also if power supply is needed for your table please let us know how many plugs you will require. If there are any other special requirements for your table please let us know when you send in your agreement, business card and payment. We will start on the layout of the venue next week. We also hope to have a map available to all paid entrants.
New to our Community Market Day we have added Door Prizes!! These items will also be listed on the map.
We are working hard to keep the tables unique and the price down. This event is a community event and all schools will be invited. We will be advertising in all the local papers, our school website, the WCS infocus newsletter and we will have banners on Highway 31 and in many local yards (small versions of this will be available if you have a store front or would like to put on your webpage).
If you know of a business that may be interested in renting a table PLEASE forward this information to them. We are not renting duplicates tables. This is a first come first serve basis. So if you see that we do not a table in a certain category and know of someone that may want to participate remember the vendor that contacts us first gets the spot! If your church youth group would like a table please have them contact us!
We will be selling dinner plates for $5 a plate. We are still working on the logistics of dinner. Admission is free for students and ADULT admission is only $2. Our school directories will be going out before Thanksgiving (God willing) and the back cover of the directories will be an Advertisement for MARKET DAY! Again all vendors which pay before November 1st and have included a business card these will go in our school directory. Please contact Julie Costa for more information:

Tour Italy and See The Five Treasures of Countryside by Rome
Rome, Italy is called to be a land of ancient structures, hot fashion, and authentic culture. But apart from its alluring beauty and a very meaningful history Rome also has its hidden treasures along the countryside.Read more... -
Living in Integrity and Authenticity
Integrity - what is it exactly? Some synonyms are honesty, truth, honor and reliability. It is being a person that people can count on. It is being someone who represent truthfulness. It is being trustworthy.Read more...
I quoted Seth Godin recently and would like to again. He's a world-famous blogger and, as quite often, the following is quirky. "Sprezzatura... is Italian for being able to do your craft without a lot of visible effort. It's a combination of élan and grace and class... the opposite of loud grunts while you play tennis or a lot of whining and fuss when you help out a customer*." As a leader, do you have sprezzatura? Or do you draw attention to yourself?
Godin's comments made me reflect on my own behaviour and some of the noisy behaviour I've observed from insecure leaders over the years. What would colleagues say about your tendency to the following six characteristics?
- Needing to be noticed: seeking media coverage regardless of your organisation's need for it; attending too many dinners and conferences; laughing loudly so people notice you; wearing distinctive dress (I'm guilty of that one)?
- Not admitting to being wrong: never owning up to your errors or showing you've made a wrong assumption or judgement - in other words, living by the old joke. Rule #1: the boss is never wrong. Rule #2: if the boss is wrong, see Rule #1.
- Making impetuous decisions: wanting to show how smart, savvy and decisive you are - without seeking sufficient input and/or bringing your people along on the issue.
- Indulging in and advertising your conspicuous consumption: so that you're a fixture in the social pages and always at the ritzy events. Even when times are tough and there is pressure on the staff to cut costs, you're reported as buying a Porsche.
- Approaching everything with self-interest: in terms of what does this situation do for my standing, how will the media report it, how can I maximise my takeaway? Or, it's only a good deal if I'm CEO of the merged group.
- Speaking up mostly for what's politically correct: while failing to argue publicly for your industry and the free enterprise system, of which your business is part.
